The History of Brazil Natioanl Football Team
Anyone who knows the history of football, especially the history of World Cup football should know that no country has been as successful as Brazil. They have won five World Cups (the most ever) and they remain the only team to have played in every tournament. They also won eight Copa America titles and four Confederations Cups. Over the years, Brazil has produced some of the greatest players in the world.
The history of international football in Brazil began in 1914 when the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) was established. In 1919, Brazil won its first major trophy, beating Uruguay in the final of the South American Championship. And in 1922, beat Paraguay again with a controversial 3-0. But after the 1922 victory, Brazil went 27 years without a trophy.
In 1957, the 16-year-old Pele joined the history of Brazilian and world football. Although he is only so young, his outstanding performance was enough to make him selected for the 1958 World Cup. In the first two games, Brazil beat Austria 3-0 and drew 0-0 with England. In their final group game against the Soviet Union, coach Vicente Feola made three substitutions, with Zito, Garrincha, and Pelé coming off the bench. Brazil won the match 2-0. Then, Pele was instrumental in every victory, scoring all six goals in the knockout stages. The victory made Brazil the first team outside its continent to win the World Cup.
From 1995 to 2007, Brazil won four more Copa America titles. In 2019, Head coach Tite led Brazil to their first Copa América title since 2007. After beating rivals Argentina 2–0 in the semi-finals,[104] Brazil beat Peru in the final to win their ninth Copa América title.
